It was the type of situation that you would see on "I Love Lucy" or some other comedy. Of course, when it's you it doesn't always seem as amusing.
As often happens, some dishes got a bit dirty. So I put a little bit of detergent into the dishwasher, and turned it on. Easy peasy, no? I grew up without a dishwasher, so I'm not especially accustomed to this magnificent machine.
As I was sitting in my bedroom watching "Millionaire Matchmaker" online after having finished leftover quesadilla, my roommate yells across the house "What did you put in the dishwasher???" I come out, stating that I had put in some dishes and dish soap.
Upon reaching the kitchen, my jaw drops as I take in the sea of foam that used to be our kitchen.
Moral of the story: detergent used for handwashing does not work for a dishwasher. Be warned!

Haha, it's like out of a sitcom when the kitchen is filled with bubbles/suds! I'm doing your tag of 7 facts in my next post so I'll be linking to you :) xo, Mel
ReplyDeletehahhaha I've done something similar before when I was little... I put soap in the washing machine.

I wish something like that would happen at my house - I've always wanted to find the kitchen and/or laundry room submerged in bubbles for some bizarre reason. :/
ReplyDeleteOh no! At least it was clean bubbles and not a backed up toilet or something dirty flooding your floors. :)
ReplyDeleteI did this the first time I had a dishwasher!!! It was such a shame!! But our floors were really really clean after we mopped it all up.
