Battle of the Budget

I guess if it were easy then I wouldn't have had a problem in the first place. But I did, and budgeting is HARD!

Last week I definitely went over, and I don't even want to thing about by how much. I was already over budget due to going out of town for a wedding, but when I got back I also went to a karaoke bar with a friend. A couple drinks and crab rangoons later, I got a bill that was nearly half the week's budget! Boo.

On a related note, I put together a video list of songs you should not be singing at karaoke. This is for everyone's well-being, trust me. If you consider singing any of these songs, put down the song book and just walk away.

Budgeting: Review

To review last week. As of Wednesday I was at $37.44 out of $45. On Saturday I picked up tortilla chips, so add another $2.99 for a week's total of $40.43. That means I was $4.57 under!! Woot woot!

Sunday I'm going to skip over since we took the family out to dinner for Father's day and I took my little brother to the movies. Sometimes you just have to let things go.

So today, with grocery shopping yesterday and lunch from Costco today (yummy cheap pizza!), I am currently at $14.33 for this week. I will be spending a bit more at Uwajimaya tonight for dinner with my friend while we watch Downton Abbey, but my pennies are gonna keep getting pinched.

Budgeting: Hump day

As of Monday I am on a $45/week budget. My recent forays into budgeting didn't really work out because I limited myself too much. $45 is completely doable, right?

Um...

So it's Wednesday. I've been on this budget since Monday. As of today, I have spent $37.44. I went through my receipts, and I have been good and mostly sticking to what I need. That "mostly" is what gets me, though. $2 for Costco frozen yogurt was a splurge today. $2.18 for McDonald's yesterday was not really necessary. Did I need that frozen pizza? No, but at $3.99 it's pretty good for Frescheta. Sigh. We'll see how this plays out.
