Lovely little memory

I don't remember why we suddenly had to go out of the main dance room, but my friend took my hand and headed out. I did my best to follow her, but I'm a klutz, it was packed, and I was wearing heels.

To top things off, someone right in front of my suddenly pushed backward into me. As I began falling, I silently cursed myself for wearing those strappy sandals.

It would have been enough to just fall against one of the many people surrounding me in the busy club. That's to be expected when you barely have room to breathe. Yet, I didn't just fall against someone.

I was caught. I looked up to thank whoever was holding me in their arms. The face looking back at me smiled, and I smiled too. I was looking at one of the most attractive men I had ever seen, and he seemed to be seeing me in the same light.

And then the same idiot pushed backward again. This time, however, I was encased in protective arms. Once again I thanked my savior and began to follow my impatient friend, though not without his requesting a dance at a later time. I agreed, and later than night I met him on the dance floor and everyone else seemed to disappear.

It may have been a few years ago, but I still remember looking up into the face of the handsome stranger. Butterflies and magic are still out there...

Nostalgically yours,

~K
