Small Accomplishments

While achieving humongous goals are wonderful and all, there is something to be said for checking off those smaller ones. They bring about quite a bit of joy as well.

This weekend, I can check off a few of those small accomplishments.

1. Try foie gras. Okay, I wasn't exactly sure what this substance was, but now I know; I have eaten duck liver. Yes, it was just a sprinkling of fried foie gras over pecorino gnocchi, but it totally counts.

2. Learn how to apply fake lashes.  I have tried this numerous times, all to no avail. Well, Friday night I decided that I wanted to look fierce since I don't go out that often, and Trinity was having a Holi celebration to remember with a performance by Jay Sean. I just grabbed a set of lashes and this time it miraculously worked.

3. Grow my hair at least 10 inches for Locks of Love. I've surpassed that mark, but since the longest layer isn't really that thick, I'm gonna let it keep on growing a bit longer.

Life is full of goals, big and small. Sometimes the big can seem a bit out-of-reach, but the smaller ones can have a significant impact, too.

Happy Sunday!

  1. Yayay! Congratulations on accomplishing these goals, my love! Locks of Love is such an amazing organization. And just for the record...I adore the look of fake lashes but I am absolutely terrified of them!! :)

  2. Small goals are awesome! Hooray on achieving some! That's great!

I have never tried foie gras. I am so torn on it. I have heard that it tastes amazing, but I feel bad for the mistreatment of the duck that is required to make it foie gras. I'm not even a big animal rights person or anything, but I have friends who are and constantly poo-poo me any time i even mention it. I have actually heard that lobbyists are looking to ban this dish being served in the US, so I have a feeling it won't be available for too much longer, so that kind of makes me want to try it so that I can experience it at least once before it's gone. Sounds soooo yummy.

  3. Congratulations on achieving those goals! I have a set of false lashes that are sitting in their package because I don't want to wear them and have say one set fall off while I'm wearing the other set on the other eye! Hope you can come to my slumber party! xo, mel

  4. I'm a big fan of small goals... Then again, I'm also the kind of person who puts things I've already done on my to-do list just so I can cross them off. :)
